Shane Brown
Shane BrownI’m Shane Brown and my family and I reside in the Yocona Community.

I am running for Justice Court Judge of the Southern District. I’m a proud lifelong resident of Lafayette County. I graduated from Lafayette County High School and attended Mississippi State University where I earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. I coached and taught in the Mississippi public school system for 12 years, dedicating much of my time and resources to elementary aged and special needs kids. I eventually made the difficult decision to leave the education system and work alongside my family on their local dairy farm. I ran daily operations for years before branching out and , along with my wife, started our own business, Brown Family Dairy Ice Cream. I truly loved working with kids and it was a hard decision to give up teaching, but when I was presented with the opportunity to work with my brother to help manage and grow the dairy, I couldn’t turn it down. It’s given me so many opportunities to meet and connect with the people in and around Oxford and Lafayette County, which I love doing. Working for the family’s dairy business also presented a chance to start up my own business, which taught me so much about the business and logistics side of things.

Our town and community are growing and changing with each year. I know that I have so much to offer to the judicial system and people of Lafayette County and a lot of it is rooted in my core beliefs of hard, honest work and doing all tasks with a fair and steady sense of purpose. A judge’s personal opinions should never interfere with the ability to make sound and fair judgement; I know I can perform all duties and exceed expectations as Justice Court Judge to oversee judicial processes in an unbiased and objective manner. Oxford and Lafayette County have really been so great to me and my family and I hope to continue to give back for years to come in new capacities. I look forward to serving the residents of our county and I sincerely appreciate your support and vote.
